Founded in 1993, Wasson Music Center has grown quickly into the the fifth largest print music retailer in Ohio. Owned and operated by Carol Wasson, a violin and piano teacher, the store has focused on providing area musicians, teachers and music students with a broad selection of performing and teaching materials. Wasson Music Center also acts as the local rental agent for Buddy Roger’s Music, a well-known music instrument retailer in Cincinnati and collaborates with Kincaid's is Music, the local Yamaha piano dealer by showcasing their instruments in the store. |

Carol Wasson, B.M.
-- After a noted performing career, Carol turned her focus to teaching. A former student of Henry Meyer (LaSalle Quartet and Menahem Pressler (Beaux Arts Trio), Ms. Wasson's students have won numerous awards and performed with several orchestras. She is the District III-B OFMC Festival and the Wasson/Dayton NGPT Auditions Chair and a member of the Centerville Arts Commission.

Anne Sato Watson, B.A./Music
-- Anne has benn teaching piano and involved with music in the Dayton area since 1998. An adjunct at Stivers School of the Arts and Sinclair Community College, she is finishing her 2nd term as President of OMTA Western District, and is also a performing member of the Dayton Music Club. She received her BA in music from the University of Dayton.

Carla Grossman, B.A
-- Carla received her degree in Piano Pedagogy from Cedarville University, one of the most prestigious pedagogy programs in the United States. This program is taught by Connie Anderson, a former student of the reknown husband and wife teaching team, Audley and Barbara Wasson.
A member of the Beavercreek Piano Teacher’s Association and Music Teachers National Association, Miss Grossman is also an accomplished accompanist, including the church band.

-- This California native graduated from Wright State University's Music program. He brings 10+ years teaching experience to Wasson in a myriad of roles: from Church Piano Soloist, to Hand Bell Director, to Choir Director, to Vocal Performance Groups. Michael's students are provided the opportunity to perform in Recitals.

Angela Barber, B.M
-- She studied with LeeAnn Kinner, Dorothy Smith, Dr. Kimberly Warrick and Dr. Charles Larkowski. She was a winner of the 2000 Wright State University Concerto Night Competition.
Miss Barber has performed with the Dayton Philharmonic Chorus (Daphnus and Chloe and West Side Story) and is currently a soloist with Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church in Germantown.

Michael LaMattina, M.M
-- Michael LaMattina, M.M. is a former student of Tom Freer, Michael Rosen and Mark Yancich. He is the principal percussion/assistant timpanist of the Dayton Philharmonic, principal percussion/timpani of ProMusica Chamber Orchestra and a member of the percussion section of the Columbus Symphony. A gifted performer, Mr. LaMattina has given numerous lectures and recitals and does a summer percussion clinic at Shaw’s.

Kevin Murchanian, B.A.
-- He studied with Charles Pagnard, Basil Drew and his father, Paul Murachanian. He primarily plays trumper and all the brass and woodwind instruments. He performs Taps for the Marine and Air Force Honor Guard, is currently recording his first CD, the administrator of the Gem City Band and Orchestra which has it’s rehearsal home at Shaw’s Music Center and of the Quick Start program, which provides three free lessons for children who have rented band instruments from Shaw’s.

Paul Murachanian, B.M
-- He studied with Henry Wohlgematl, former first trumpet of the Cincinnati Symphony. He plays and teaches all brass and woodwind instruments, is the director of the Gem City Band and Orchestram, is also a talented arranger, has worked for gospel artist, Steve Adams, arranges the music for the Gem City Band, and has been a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in Cincinnati, the Cincinnati May Festival Orchestra, the St. Petersburg (Florida) Symphony and the Kettering Civic Band.

Heather Bruns
-- A graduate of Bellbrook High School the student president of the band her senior year.
With 9 years of teaching experience under her belt, students will excel in their school bands and enjoy music at home. Students will develop a well rounded understanding of basis music theory (non-instrument specific) that they can carry with them their whole lives.
Heather has experience teaching groups, leading recital performances, and has taught special needs students with success. Her performance experience includes concert, jazz, and marching band.

-- Jason Yanity is a guitar instructor with 11 years teaching experience. He has previously earned an Associates Degree in Music Education, and a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance for classical guitar, with honors recommendations. Numerous performances including 4 years lead guitarist with the Northmont jazz ensemble, and multiple occasions with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Also has additional experience with alto saxaphone, piano, viola, banjo, and percussion.
